Vail, Co Sept 2015: Another shot of Lise & Tom. The original was in color but over-exposed due to the flash. Their smiles were too wonderful to erase the pic so I reworked it in B&W.

A heartfelt thank you from Sr. Mary of Jesus to all of you who remembered her in your prayers, sent her a card or note, and to the thoughtful classmate who sent a basket of plants with pink carnations.  She so much appreciates everyone's thoughtfulness and kindness in recognition of her 40th anniversary as a Carmelite.  Feel free to write her and stay in touch at any time.  She loves hearing about you and really enjoyed pictures of the Vail reunion.  Sister is restricted in her letter writing but is permitted to correspond at Christmas.  Her address is:  Sr. Mary of Jesus, O.C.D., Holy Annunciation Monastery, 403 West County Road, Sugar Loaf, PA 18249.

Thank you, Gaels!

Thanks Kathleen for the update on Sister Mary of Jesus.

In a recent correspondence dated 10-14-15 Sister shared this beautiful prayer

with me. I will send it along to all of you to enjoy, "Class of '71".

"Oh my God, I ask for myself and for those dear to me

the grace to perfectly fulfill your Holy Will, to accept for

love of you the joys and sorrows of this passing life,

so that we may one day be united in Heaven for all eternity. "

Amen.

Our classmate Linda Horan Fitzgerald passed away Friday, November 13.  Linda's services will be at Laufersweiler Funeral Home with visitation 4-8 pm Tuesday, November 17.  The Catholic Daughters of America will lead the rosary at 4:00 pm.  Reverend Bill Schreiber will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am Wednesday, November 18 at St. Matthew's, Clare.  Linda is survived by her husband Tom, three sons and their wives, and eight grandchildren.  Please keep Linda and her family in your prayers.  May Linda rest in peace.

Thank you for that information, Kathy.  We have lost another classmate.

My mom (Betty) is usually the one who leads the Rosary for Catholic Daughters.  I know my parents knew Linda and thought very highly of  her.

May she rest in peace.

Mary

Mary Lyman (Ryan)

Classmates,

Linda came to my Father's wake in 2012.  She told me she never had met my Dad, but she came to support me and our family.  I will never forget Linda's act of kindness.  I hope as many classmates from the Class of 1971, who are able, will attend Linda's wake, The Rosary, or Linda's funeral mass in Clare to support her family.

Rest in Peace Linda.

Linda was a good friend, so full of life and energy, always with a smile on her face. Yes, doing acts of kindness for everyone was a big part of who she was.  She was there for me when my mom passed, bringing food and moral support.  It's hard to be far away, I would certainly be there for Tom and the family right now. I believe her faith was strong, so am pretty sure she is in heaven now, smiling down on all of us.

I have a thought I like to share when someone passes from this life.

"When we think of those companions who traveled by our side down life's road, let us not say with sadness that they left us behind, but rather say with gratitude that they once were with us.

Rest in peace Linda.

Barb, this is a beautiful tribute to Linda. It was so beautifully stated. Linda's death was a real loss to us here on earth. But, Linda is an awesome addition for us in heaven.  God bless you Barb.
