A Note From Jerry

Hello Classmates!

It is the time of year to give thanks!  Personally, today, I’m giving “Thanks” for you!  Around fifty-one and one-half years ago, you elected me to be your class President.  You have no idea how that vote of confidence helped to frame my life in a positive way.  It helped me come out of my teenage shell and gave me a sense that I could accomplish goals in life.  Why not?  If I could be President of the greatest class in the history of St. Edmond High School… okay, I know that I am being a little biased here…, then what else could I be?

I’m not sure why some of you may have voted for me.  I certainly wasn’t the most popular person.  Perhaps you just felt that I would be disciplined enough to help pull together reunions every few years.  Maybe you liked the fact that I had the band help campaign for me.  For whatever the reason, your vote counted!

And there are many more reasons to be thankful for you.  A number of you have been my dear friends for life, the kind of people that I have relied on in my times of need.  And I’m sure that each of you has a list of friends from our SE days that have been equally valued by you.  We can give thanks for each other!

So, today, I give thanks to you and I look forward to seeing you at our “50 + 1” reunion next fall.  We can reminisce about our high school days or share where our different paths have taken us.  All I want to do is “C U in ‘22”!

Happy Thanksgiving,
